is all about painting with light, and one
of the best times I find to take advantage of unique lighting
conditions is at night. I had previously attempted to photograph
this totem pole found at Vanier Park in Vancouver, but found
the attempt lacking due too much effort being used to try to
show the grandeur of the totem. This time I decided to focus
on only a part, focusing instead on detail. I was drawn to the
figure and how it seemed to be looking skywards, and I was drawn
to how the flowers in front seemed to luminesce with the backlight.
This attempt proved to be much more fruitful. |
